How to wash clothes

How to remove stains?

Want to remove an ink or lipstick stain? A stain on your blouse collar or shirt cuffs? Here's how to get started:

  1. Apply a small amount of La Parisienne detergent of your choice directly to the stain.
  2. Scrub.
  3. Rinse.
  4. Wash immediately to avoid rings.
Some of our fave tricks:
  • Remove stains as soon as possible (pre-treat immediately and rinse well with cold water if regular washing is not possible at this time). Treating the stain quickly greatly increases the chances of getting rid of it. Speed is your best friend!
  • Before drying, always check to see if you’ve managed to wash the stain out. A stain that has been machine-dried is always more difficult to remove afterwards.
  • If your garment remains stained after the first wash, soak it again with liquid detergent or apply detergent directly to the stain. Then scrub and wash your garment again.
  • Check the required quantities carefully to avoid waste !
Bleach is also very useful for stain removal on certain types of fabric. Does that worry you a bit? Let's take a look at how to use it, to put your mind at ease.
Washer :
  • Add 80 mL of bleach to the dispenser or directly to the water.
  • Place the fabrics in the machine.
  • Wash as usual.
By hand:
  • Soak your fabrics for 10 minutes in a solution of 40 mL of multi-purpose bleach per 4 litres of water.
  • Rinse thoroughly.
Our best tips:
  • Wear gloves when handling bleach.
  • Always test bleach on a hidden area of the item before use.
  • Sort your fabrics properly.
  • Never pour bleach directly onto fabrics.
  • Follow the washing instructions on the fabric.
  • Do not use this household product on silk, wool, mohair, leather, spandex, metal, enamel and wood surfaces, or as a disinfectant on aluminum and silver.
  • Rinsing with clean, potable water is recommended for surfaces, objects and toys that may come into direct contact with children at the mouthing stage of development.
