Nobody’s perfect. But at La Parisienne, we know there’s always room for improvement. Our role is to better meet the needs of local families, and our mission is to do so in a responsible mode. Every day, we reassess how we do things and how we think, with the goal of constantly reducing our footprint without compromising cleanliness. And that’s only the first step. We want to get everybody involved so that as a society, we take simple but meaningful actions. We can all do our part—wash smarter, consume smarter, together. No need to be radical: it’s all about adopting gradual but lasting changes—that’s what we call being responsible.
LA PARISIENNE TAKES ITS RESPONSIBILITIES
5 facts that demonstrate our commitment.
A LOCAL BRAND
La Parisienne is proud to be a local brand. With our factory and headquarters in eastern Montréal, we’re creating local jobs and contributing to the local economy. As most of our products are sold in Quebec, our transportation footprint is significantly reduced. Our products are made for people from here.
We have chosen to offer biodegradable products to cares about the environment. Our products’ biodegradability is tested by independent laboratories against standards set by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The vast majority of our products pass the 301D test, which certifies that at least 60% of the product will degrade in 28 days or less. Because of its very nature, bleach (whether made by us or by other companies) cannot be biodegradable. It’s still a useful disinfecting option, but for laundry, we developed a greener alternative: La Parisienne 2, a chlorine- and phosphate-free formula.
3SIGNATORY OF THE

4MORE CONCENTRATED, LESS WATER
La Parisienne is proud to offer detergent formulas that are 10 to 15% more concentrated than those of most other brands. For the same number of loads, each bottle contains up to 15% less water.
La Parisienne is constantly taking concrete actions to reduce its footprint. To identify continuous improvement objectives, we completed a life-cycle analysis for our products and conducted an internal audit following the BNQ 21000 method. These tools have allowed us to target the most impactful measures as part of an overall sustainable development approach.
